Discover France.

Ahh... home to the city of love, France is a breath of fresh air and full of culture. Whether it is pastries,  baguette or the language, France will wow you with every step. France has its fair share of landmarks, with the beating heart, Paris, being the host of  sights such as the Eiffel Tower and Arc De Triumph. But France is home to so many incredible hidden gems. 

Transport in France. 

A significant fact about France is its amazing network of transportation. The Euro tunnel connects the country to England, and is a great starting point or base to explore the bordering countries of Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. 

For those who do not travel by car, the Eurostar does the same job as the Euro tunnel, and joins an intricate system of trains and buses that can bring you to so many places in France and beyond.

The rail system, SNCF, services and operates in nearly every major city and 150 towns and villages as well as the neighnoring countries. 
Metro systems are well connected in cities such as Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Rennes and Toulouse. The average cost for a single ticket is  €1.80 . It is important to stay aware of pickpockets on trains especially when it is crowded. 
Think about getting yourself a Euro Rail France Pass  if you're staying for longer and moving around France a lot. 
Uber and Taxis are also available in major cities. Uber is often less pricey, however it can still be expensive especially in surge periods, so make sure you check the app for prices. 

Staying in France. 

As a young person, I was travelling alone and needed to find like minded people. I did this by staying at a hostel. If you are thinking of staying at a hostel, it is best to find one that has a bar or a hub for people to mingle and meet. Some of the people you meet here will make your experience!
